From VOODOOrain to Manchester Reigns

We began life as VOODOOrain - our first love letter to the city and a nod to A Guy Called Gerald’s 1988 Acid House anthem “Voodoo Ray.” The name evolved, the spirit didn’t. Manchester Reigns is still about the bands, the clubs, the people, the rivalry of reds & blues, the late buses back from town and the kind of weather that writes its own soundtrack.

For Dave

In the middle of our rebrand, we lost our co-founder and original designer, Dave. He was a marvellous Manc, a monumental graphic designer, the source of endless laughs but most importantly a unique human. His work lives on in the VOODOOrain Special Editions - kept exactly as he designed them. If one of those pieces finds you, give it a nod for him.

• Audra - Joined the team to keep the wheels turning. If it works, she fixed it; if it’s broken, she’s on it. The calm in a Manc storm.
